The Cat Forest

The Cat Forest is a proposal for an urban park combined with a cemetery, hospital and hotel, all dedicated to Istanbul’s sacred animal- the cat. Located at the edge of Tarlabası, it takes the form of a site-responsive pavilion, whose structure is based on a tree- inspired module. Self-contained units host the main functions of  caring for the beloved felines and slot within the forest-like structure. The resulting in-between space is offered to the residents of Tarlabası to inhabit as much needed public space.
