Tarlabasi is another world, like an island, it is cut off from the rest of the city. This forgotten place consists of marginalised diverse migrants. The project recreates the UNESCO recognised multicultural Turkish theatres- Karagoz (Shadow puppet theatre) and Ortaoyunu (Immersive Theatre). Tarlabasi theatre is the world of people. The scheme seeks to bring back the livelihood and diversity in the neighbourhood. Here the marginalised communities are empowered by celebrating ethnical diversity and multiculturalism through performance and making.
