The intervention is based in Istanbul in the heart of Tarlabasi and it overlooks the demolition grounds of the on-going Taksim 360 gentrification project. The Broadcasting House attempts to be an alternative to it by providing a more socially aware response to the renewal aspirations of the government. By acting as a protective prosthetic reinforcing the existing built fabric of the 33-building block, the Broadcasting House via its structure would allow the residents to keep their homes for future generations. While at the top, its FM Complex and Antenna would sit and broadcast freely to Turkey and the world, occupying the air space above Tarlabasi's footprint.
